Ayşe Zeynep Ekici
Undergraduate Research Assistant
I am currently a second-year psychology student at Kadir Has University. I grew up around people with opposing political views and diverse backgrounds, which gave me many opportunities to observe people from different minorities and political camps. It also raised many questions for me, such as: Why do we discriminate against people? How does religion affect our moral life? Do we have a chance to prevent discrimination and dehumanization? When do we begin to act more morally in critical situations?
I want to find answers to these questions through psychology research and, perhaps in the future, explore ways to apply these concepts in the real world. In my free time, I play chess and I also enjoy traveling to new places and visiting relatives or family friends, even if I don’t remember them or have never met them before. I like spending time with the elderly and children as well.
